Typewriter Artist, Winifred T. Caldwell

At The TypEtching (TM) Collection we strive to educate and inform you about one of the artists who pioneered the use of a typewriter to make art.

Winifred Caldwell (1901-1971) believed that she was the first American artist beginning in the 1940's, to use the typewriter to create a body of work.

Her "TypEtching" of the JFK gravesight at Arlington National Cemetery resides in the Kennedy Library.
